Welcome to Benson Parish Council
Benson Parish Council is dedicated to serving our village community. As a Parish Council, we are classed as the lower tier of local government, operating beneath the county council and the district council, so our powers are therefore somewhat limited. Nonetheless, we take pride in managing allotments, play areas, village halls, and open spaces, as well as providing advisory input on local planning applications.
Our parish councillors are local elected members who are unpaid and committed to ensuring that the community’s voice is heard and represented in decision-making processes affecting our village. We convene for full council meetings every month, with various sub-committees meeting in between. We warmly welcome members of the public to attend any publicised council meeting.
Within this website, you’ll find comprehensive information about our council, our responsibilities, the services we provide, and where to seek assistance beyond our scope.
Benson is a great place to live, and our objective is to preserve its beauty for future generations to enjoy.
