OCC have informed us of the following road closure with effect from Tuesday 2nd September which will most likely lead to some disruption in the village.
Temporary road closure – Crown Lane, Benson
Start Date: 2 September 2025
End Date (estimated): 18 December 2025
Reason: Installation of a new main sewer pipe
Closure Hours: 24/7
Details: Crown Lane will be closed in phases from the junction with High Street/Brook Street heading north towards Watlington Road. During the final stage, Watlington Road will be narrowed at the junction with Crown Lane and managed by temporary traffic signals.
Access:
- Emergency services and residents with properties only accessible via the closed section will still have access.
- All other vehicles must follow the signed diversion route.
Diversion Route: Crown Square → Old London Road → St Helens Avenue → Church Road → High Street → Watlington Road (and vice versa).
